purpose:

The purpose of the bill is to legalize the sex industry (but does not approve or ethically sanction prostitution or the use of prostitution) and create a framework-

1- Guarantee the human rights of sex workers and protect them from exploitation;

2-Promote the welfare and occupational safety and health of sex workers;

4- Implement certain related reforms.

Business and self-employment

If you are considering opening a brothel or operating a prostitution establishment, you must personally apply for a brothel operation permit. It must be clearly understood that if you have a temporary or conditional visa, you are not allowed to engage in prostitution business or provide commercial services. If you are self-employed, you do not need to apply for this certificate.

NZPC is happy to provide you with valuable information to help you comply with the law on how to establish a safe and secure place of employment.

Including information on taxation, brothel operating instructions, municipal regulations, and health. You are also welcome to come to NZPC to discuss face-to-face with us.

It is illegal to assist anyone under the age of 18 to provide sexual services

If you are under 18 years of age, engaging in sex work is not against the law.

However, it is illegal for anyone to pay someone under the age of 18 to purchase sexual services.

Brothel operators, customers and even workers 18 years of age or older are fined or imprisoned for assisting people under 18 in sex work.
